Emilia Filogamo
Emilia Filogamo is Italian born, but currently lives in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Since 1998 Emilia has been a fan of the Backstreet Boys and in the early 2000s she was involved with the Backstreet Boys fandom online. Whether it was managing various online fan groups, websites, forums or social media pages. Then in July 2006 she created her own fans site for Nick Carter. The fan site was her way to show support for Nick and the Backstreet Boys. It became a popular website for Backstreet Boys’ fans to get the latest news on them. After twelve years the website closed in 2018. While she no longer has the website she continued to use social media to keep fans updated.
During those twelve years she had the opportunity to work on Nick Carter’s official website in 2012. Updating it with news in regards to his career. She also moderated both Nick Carter’s and the Backstreet Boys’ Fan Clubs. She never imagined that having her own fan site for him would lead to having an opportunity like this or that Nick himself would know about it. It showed Nick Carter’s appreciation for the work she had done on her website and for supporting his career. Although she no longer updates his website or moderates their Fan Clubs, she’s grateful and appreciative for the opportunity she had.
She currently is a co-owner of BSBFangirls.com, a fan blog about the Backstreet Boys with news and blogs.
In 2022 she was offered the opportunity to write about the Backstreet Boys’ 30-year career. The book, ‘Backstreet Boys: 30th Anniversary Celebration’, was released on April 11, 2023 through Epic Ink. It was co-written with her closest friend, Karah-Leigh Hancock, who owns BSBFangirls.com.
Her other passions and hobbies include writing, reading, music, watching movies, and watching soccer. One of her all-time favorites is The Hunger Games series and movies.
Writing has been something she has always enjoyed. It was an outlet to express her creativity. Coming from a family who has worked in various forms of art it was no surprise that she also had a love for it. Whether it was the art of storytelling or even making graphic designs for her website, social media pages and more.
In the early 2000s she began reading fan fiction and decided to write her own as a hobby. After several years she stopped as her fan site and involvement with the Backstreet Boys fandom kept her busy. In 2020, when the world stopped due to the Covid-19 pandemic, she got back into writing. Writing again made her realize just how much she enjoyed it and how much it motivated her. Eventually, she posted her novel onto Wattpad, but has since removed it from the platform. Currently she is in the process of editing the novel with the goal of publishing it someday.
